LATEST SWINE FLU INFORMATION

The following groups are being given the vaccine: 

- Children aged 6 months - 4 yrs 11 months & persons in the at risk groups: 
- All pregnant women     
-Chronic heart disease
-Chronic respiratory disease
-Chronic renal disease
-Chronic liver disease
-Chronic kidney disease 
-Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
- Diabetes     
- Immunosuppresed
- Asthma
- Stroke and TIA's
- Multiple Sclerosis

We are inviting patients by letter who fall into these categories to come to a vaccination clinic.  If you wish to decline the invitation, please let us know so we can add this to your record.

Please call between 10.30am and 5.45pm to enquire about your test results as our reception staff will have more time to deal with your request between these times.  Please allow up to 48 hours for a routine blood test result.  X-ray, ultrasound scans and swabs/clippings  take one week.  More complex blood tests take up to 8 weeks to come back to us. 

Note that the practice has a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection and we will only release test results to the person to whom they relate unless that person has given prior permission for the release of this data or they are not capable of understanding the results.

If you have been to the hospital and a Doctor there arranged for you to have a test, you should contact the hospital for the result.

It is your responsibility to check your results and to make an appointment to discuss them with your doctor if your are advised to do so.
